Wisco Hockey has learned that Waupaca’s Brad Navin (53 goals, 39 assists for 92 points), last season’s WIAA High School Hockey leading scorer, has comitted to Univeristy of Wisconsin for what appears to be the 2012-2013 season.
Navin, who had several schools interested in him this past off-season, listed Wisconsin, Ohio State and Bemidji State as his top three choices. “Growing up, I've always followed and watched Badger games,” said Navin.
Navin was impressed with Ohio State, their coaching staff, their ability to move guys on to the NHL and the campus. He felt the same about Bemidji State and can appreciate the direction both of those programs are going, but the idea of being a Badger is a dream come true for Navin.
“It’s great hockey tradition (Wisconsin) and winning reputation… I want to be a part of that. They have a great coaching staff, that advances guys to the next level and there is nothing like playing for your home state,” said Navin.
