Middleton's Adam Derosa and Memorial's Eric Zwaska
#1 Eau Claire Memorial 9 – 1 Eau Claire North
Eau Claire Memorial (14-1-0), fresh off their first loss, handled their city rival in a route last night at the Hobbs Ice Arena. The Old Abes scored six first period goals and cruised to a 9-1 win.
A week ago, top ranked Eau Claire Memorial, lost to New Ulm (MN), 2-0. Senior Alexander Dahl blames the loss on the team’s flat performance in the first period. “We learned our less the hard way and it won’t happen again,” said Dahl.
This past week, in preparation for Eau Claire North, the Old Abes responded to the loss. “Players have been showing up to the rink more focused and ready to get back to work,” said Dahl.
#2 Wausau West 3 – 2 D.C. Everest (Overtime)
Wausau West peppered D.C. Everest goaltender, Jared Enkers, with 59 shots in an overtime thriller last night. The Warriors big man, Ryan Condon, got the game winner and second ranked Wausau West improved to 9-1-0.
